The GeneralAire GA4004, 7564 Humidifier Strainer Screen is a genuine OEM that fits in between the solenoid valve ASM and the compression sleeve of your humidifier. In areas where you experience heavy waterborne minerals, if you find that your solenoid valve fails to function properly, disconnect the 1/4″ water supply line from the solenoid valve. Next, carefully pull the strainer screen from the valve body and clean the mineral deposits from all parts. If the orifice is clogged, it could be opened by gently inserting a small pin. Reinsert the humidifier filter into the fitting of the orifice and screw the brass strainer body into the solenoid valve.
