This filter is interchangeable with the Doulton W9223022 and other 10″ filters that are OBE (open both ends). Water purification starts at the outer ceramic shell where the silver-impregnated material kills bacteria and traps harmful contaminants down to 0.5 microns in size. As water moves through the microscopic pores either under pressure or through gravity it then has to pass through a granular carbon filter media which further improves the taste and quality of water.
